Built and launched in May 2021, this beautifully hand-crafted Selway Fisher Design runabout is designed with quality craftsmanship and style in mind.
Constructed over a period of 18 months in Sydney, Amanzi was designed specifically for inshore boating, or canal living and reflects the opulence and grandeur of cruising Lake Como right here in Australia.
The name “Amanzi” means water in Zulu and reflects the nostalgia of the current owner who grew up around Lake Kariba in Southern Africa.
The Build
Amanzi is a ‘V’ bottomed plywood runabout designed for performance and easy handling by one person.
The hull is constructed using fibreglass on marine plywood and the frames are built using cedar that have been secured onto a plywood central girder and transom.
The bottom stringers have been added to stiffen the hull and the panels were constructed and fitted before epoxying in the chine seams and fibre glassing into place.
The decking is constructed using a combination of teak and Australian hardwood that has been sealed and finished using a two-pack varnished to give a ‘laid’ deck effect.
Amanzi sports a 40 hp Yamaha 4 stroke engine with power tilt, trim tables that makes for easy on water handling at speeds of up to 40 Kmph.
Amanzi has been finished off with high quality chrome fixtures designed to make sure she captures the attention of everyone along with her navy blue and white hull which completes the traditional finish.
